JWTS European Junior Open 2022

 

From 25. 09. - 30.09. the JWTS European Junior Open 2022 took place in Albena / Bulgaria.

It was the final of the european JWTS outdoor tennis season. Qualified and invited junior players U12 and U16 of 8 countries from Europe and Asia took part to win one of the attractive prizes. The winners in singles received a one week tennis training in Juan Carlos Ferrero Tennis Academy in Spain.

Especially the JWTS tournament mode could inspire coaches and escort teams as permanent on-court coaching is allowed and each player can complete several singles matches, doubles and mixed too.

Zara Haider, number 1 at girl U12 in Bangladesh played the first time of her life on clay court. At the end she was 3rd place in singles, 2nd place in doubles and semifinal in mixed.

Winner in U12 was the twins Mika and Tal Schuster from Isreal. Both are number 1 in Israel. Mika and Tal won in singles and doubles, and together in mixed.

Nicole Palkina from Kyrgyzstan was also seccessful. She was 2nd place in singles, doubles and mixed. Aileen Siencnik from Austria was 3rd place in doubles and mixed.

U16 was dominated by Romania. In boys won Radu Paisvant. He just lost 1 game in 4 singles matches. Together with Catrinel Oniculescu they won the mixed event and with Vittorio di Nardis in doubles. In girls U16 won Ilinca Sagmar from Romania. Catrinel was 2nd place and together they won doubles. Maxim Kolarov local from Bulgaria was 2nd place in singles, doubles and mixed. The best player of the group from Austria was Bianca Theuermann. She was 3rd place in singles, 2nd place in doubles with Filiz Siencnik and 3rd in mixed with Vittorio di Nardis from Italy. Lena Marko was 2nd place in mixed with Maxim Kolarov from Bulgaria and together with Emma Mateickova numer 3 in doubles.

Visitors could see many exciting matches in both categories on best prepared clay courts.

All junior players spent a fabolous tennis week near by the black see beach.

The tournament director, Thomas Schulze by himself, was glad and contented when he could present prizes and trophies to the successful players inviting them to Albena Spring Open 2023.

All players and their teams are already waiting for the next JWTS tournaments too improve their JWTS world ranking.
